the high water line

* La water line que se ha erigido a lo largo de la linea de costa de NewYork, es un proyecto de la artista Eve Mosher la cual intenta hacernos comprender los efectos reales que supondría el cambio climático en la altura del nivel del mar, sobre el suelo de Manhattan. Desde Mayo y hasta Octubre, la artista dibuja e instala sobre el suelo de NY, una linea blanca de tiza sobre los distritos de Brooklyn y Manhattan más bajos, para ilustrar los 10 pies que se hundirían estas zonas. High Water Line nos marca la extensión y el efecto que tendrían las subidas y las tormentas que se darían cita como resultado del progresivo cambio climático. * The water line is rising along NYC’s waterfront, and public works artist Eve Mosher is using her High Water Line project to make sure that we understand the very real effects of climate change along our shared urban coastline. From May to October 2007, Mosher is drawing (by-hand or pushcart) a white chalk line through the waterfront communities of Brooklyn and lower Manhattan in order to illustrate the 10-feet above sea level mark that potentially threatens unsuspecting neighborhoods, commercial zones, city streets, and private residences.
